Anti-slip products - how they work
Anti-slip products for tiles contain inorganic surface activators and polymers which, through a chemical reaction, form exceptionally durable microstructures. They increase the kinetic friction coefficient, which produces the anti-slip effect. They can be used both indoors and outdoors, on old and new surfaces. This makes them versatile products that you can use in many places around a single property.
Applying the product
Before applying the product, make sure the entire surface has been properly prepared. Above all, this means removing all dust, dirt, loose debris and crumbling fragments, as well as patina, tapes and adhesives. It is very important to protect all wooden, metal and glass surfaces near the application area. This is best done with masking film. On a small area, you can apply the product yourself with a paint roller, a brush or even a towel. Make sure the product is spread evenly over the entire surface. Then brush the whole surface vigorously for about 30 seconds, until bubbles and foam appear. Wait a few minutes, brush the whole surface again and stop the reaction after about 10 minutes. Collect the remaining product and rinse the surface twice with water. Dry the whole area with a cloth or a vacuum cleaner. To ensure the product works effectively, protect the surface from sunlight after application.
Anti-slip treatment from CTS Chemistry
Our anti-slip products do not change the appearance or colour of the surface. They do, however, improve safety in use and help keep the surface looking good and in good condition for a long time. The R-9 product can only be used safely on small areas. For large areas, we always recommend having the treatment applied by a suitably qualified service team.
